Link AP Academy is a Non-School Alternative Provision that supports students who require a more personalised and structured approach to education. We work in partnership with mainstream schools and families to help students re-engage with learning, improve attendance, and make academic and personal progress through part-time placements.
Our provision is suitable for students who are finding aspects of mainstream education challenging and may benefit from smaller group teaching, consistent routines, and targeted support. Placements are typically agreed in collaboration with the referring school and reviewed regularly.
No. Link AP Academy offers part-time AM and PM sessions only. We do not operate as a full-time school. Placements are designed to complement a student’s main school placement or form part of a short- to medium-term intervention plan.
Students access core curriculum subjects including GCSE English Language, GCSE English Literature, GCSE Maths, and GCSE Science, alongside PSHE and targeted interventions. Teaching is delivered by fully qualified teachers and aligned with national curriculum expectations.
Where appropriate and agreed with the referring school, students may work towards GCSE qualifications in core subjects. Any examination entries are discussed and planned collaboratively with the home school. Link AP Academy does not offer vocational qualifications.
Placement length varies depending on individual need. Some students attend for short-term intervention, while others require longer support. All placements are reviewed regularly to ensure they remain purposeful and aligned with agreed outcomes.
We work closely with partner schools to support planned reintegration where appropriate. This includes regular communication, progress updates, attendance data, and review meetings to support a smooth and successful transition.
Attendance is recorded daily, and student progress is tracked through baseline assessments, ongoing observation, and regular review. Updates are shared with schools and families to maintain transparency and accountability.
Yes. Link AP Academy provides safe, door-to-door transport, with students collected and dropped off by our own trained staff. This helps reduce barriers to attendance and provides reassurance for students and families.
A Non-School Alternative Provision is not registered as a school with the Department for Education and does not offer full-time education. Link AP Academy operates within this framework, working in partnership with mainstream schools who retain responsibility for the student’s education.
Referrals are made directly by schools. We encourage an initial discussion to ensure the placement is appropriate and aligned with the student’s needs and the school’s expectations.
